Eeek! I was tagged for "Five Things"!

My son tagged me with the "Five Things" challenge today.  For me to post this blog entry may Lose me "coolness" and "mystery" but what the hey.

1. I am named for Jefferson, two brothers for Lincoln and Wilson. But my poor little sister is named for Quincy Adams, on her birth certificate is says "Susie Q Adams....". Our turtle was Andrew Jackson, and cats were TR and Alice Wilson. When I was 15 I got to have my own kitten and name it too. Promptly she became "Daffodil", named for her eye color and NOT for a president!

2. I answered the phone once as a child and recognized it was Everett Dirksen, calling for my father. It was the "Summer of '67" when race riots commanded international attention to the US, when Detroit, Newark, Cleveland, Watts, and even Elgin, Illinois went up in flames. My father was Mayor and my parents were taken to a "command post" for two days, while us four kids were taken to a safe house. The police tapped our phone for a week and patrolled our home. Yes, it was an "interesting" childhood.

3. I have three wonderful sons, but the one who often gets attention is the one who was born with severe brain damage, so severe we were told he had no brain at all. After all these years, and 21 surgeries, this son remains the all-time champ as "Energizer Bunny" and more lives than a cat. He is a lively adult now, enjoying PlayStation, his computer, Yu-Gi-Oh cards and quite the conversationalist. I however, deserve gray hair and early senility. I worked hard for this and want to be taken care of when I'm very old. (No gray hair yet and I don't think 55 is considered "very old" yet.)

4. If you have a job selling industrial supplies in Texas to oil patch industries, don't start off your sales pitch with "Hi, I'm ____ and I sell nuts, bolts, and screws". (word)

5. I'm an ENTJ female, which means (in the words of the Myers-Briggs typecasting book) that I swim upstream. It was only as an adult about age 40 that I learned the reason just why it was my parents were so disappointed I was not the role-model of a sweet, quiet and most feminine of little girls.

Now I'm going to scout about for the next victims (er, I mean zaadster friends)...
